Welcome to Camporee Nacional JA 2024!

The Theme/Motto is: “David, an unlikely leader” and the basic biblical text is Psalm 78:72: “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.”

The biblical character will be David, an example of inspiration to all who hear God’s call and decide to follow and serve Him. David, with his story as a son, brother, pastor, musician, friend, fugitive, military leader, king, conqueror, entrepreneur, sinner, and restorer, a type of Jesus, can inspire and challenge children, adolescents, youth, and adults today in the mission to follow and serve our Good and Beloved God.

Leadership, along with spirituality, community presence, and innovation, is a pillar and priority for Adventist Youth and UPASD. It has a human element of resilience, effort, and dedication that must be allied to the divine element, “according to the heart of God”. Is in the connection of what is divine with what is human that the unlikely leaders, the present, and the future of the JA Movement meet.

The dream and appeal that will be left in this event are clear and intentional to active leadership in the Church and the Adventist Youth Movement. Come and be part of this adventure with Jesus!

Andrés Peralta

The spiritual guest will be Pr. Andrés Peralta, Pathfinders world leader.

This guest will come directly from the General Conference and will visit our country for the first time. He is an exciting and dynamic preacher who will surely grab everyone’s attention, posing the challenge coming from God to come out as Christians and leaders in our area of influence.

Jonathan Tejel

Well-known to Portuguese Youth, Pr. Jonathan Tejel, current Director of the Youth Department of the Inter-European Division, will return to Portugal to the Camporee National JA 2024. What a blessing to have this man of God who has dedicated his life and ministry to working with children, adolescents, and young people around the world. He too, as a divine instrument, will bring strong messages and appeals to the participants.

Musical

Casting – The Camporee Nacional JA 2024, under the strategy of Integration of the Faith, will have a musical on the theme: “David: an unlikely leader”. We want you to be part of this amazing project! So we are looking for talented young people, full of energy and passion for art, like you. If you can sing and act, this is your chance. Be part of the casting of the Adventist Youth that will take place from December 1st to 31st. We are counting with you! I GO!

Theme Song

The winner of the Theme Song Contest JA 2024 and Camporee Nacional JA 2024 will be announced soon, namely during the program “Friday Night”, on January 5, 2024, on TV Novo Tempo Portugal.

Accommodation

The accommodation for the participants will naturally be in tents and the responsibility of them belongs to the Pathfinder Club / Church. For more specific cases, it will be possible to take Caravans or Motorhomes. The existing Bungalows in the Campsite will all be destined for the Staff / Organisation of the event. No Bungalow will be available for local Pathfinder Clubs.

The extra value for the caravan or motorhome (regardless of size) is € 5.00/ day, ie € 15.00 for the weekend of Camporee Nacional JA 2024. This amount will be paid to AJA on the first day of the event.

Kitchens and Cafeteria

The food will be the responsibility of each Pathfinder Club / Church, like in ACREG’s. There will be a specific space in the Park for the assembly of kitchen tents, which are also the responsibility of each Pathfinder Club / Church. The organization of the Camporee Nacional JA 2024 will guarantee a tent/pavilion to be a common refectory, specially designed for Pathfinders Clubs / Churches that do not have enough space in their kitchen tents for their young people to eat.

Dinner in Jerusalem

Soon the organization of the Camporee Nacional JA 2024 will give more indications about this incredible moment of the program, a moment of conviviality, sharing, and significant learning.

Baptisms

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” (Matheus 28:19)

Baptism is a public decision to follow Jesus. The baptism ceremony at Camporee Nacional JA 2024 will be a special moment in which we will witness the step of faith and the courage of some young people to give their lives to the Savior.
It will also be the time when you can renew your relationship with God. Young people, leaders, and pastors who wish to live this unique experience of commitment should contact the Youth Department in advance. We appreciate that the Pastors of these young people can officiate the process by sending an email to geral@juventudeadventista.pt.
